Making Different Skin tones
(Using Irfan View)

***Warning this has lots of large image files on this page and may take some time to load***

Tired of the PSP and Photoshop tutorials that you cant use because you don't have the money to buy the programs? well here is your answer you can now make bases for free. Using what is on your computer and a free download.

This tutorial Irfan View.

I now make all bases this way because after using Photoshop to make then i had allot of extra pixels on the outside of my doll that weren't transparent which i wouldn't notice until i was done making all of the dolls, but this way of making them gives me a nice clean transparency and also keeps the good quality of the image and still be a gif(the quality can sometimes be lost because of saving as a gif in MS Paint)

If you have any problems following it please tell me and i will do my best to Re write it! (i will also try and keep typos to a minimal) Now on to the tutorial!

From the lone doll

to...

This is a follow up to Lesson one so you can have a whole set of your base body.

If you did not just finish Lesson one then open your transparent base body Irfan View. Also if you did not just finish the last lesson then you will need to find out the transparency level and remember to set it when you save you bases, if you DID just finish the last lesson the transparency level will be the same as before and should still be turned on.

Press Shift + G or go to Image> Enhance Colors

A window will pop up, We Will start with the darker shads and then go the white base last. For the first color change you will adjust the Gamma Correction, simply move it slightly to the left until you get the disierd shade. This is the only base you will use this control on.

you may or may not move it as far as it is in the picture

Press OK and save the image as another file, This is where you will set the transparency level if you did not just follow lesson 1 if you did then you do not need to-do anything)

you now have finished doll#2

For the next base Go back to enhance colors again. This time you will simply change the brightness, move it to the left until you get he disierd skin tone(ignore the background color, it will be transparent no matter what it looks like as long as you have followed the tutorial right)

you now have this doll

go to Save As and save it as a separate file name. Go back to enlace colors for a 3rd time for the darkest skin tone

you now have this doll

Again go to Save As and save the doll.

Go to File> Open and open the original doll that was made.

Go to Image> Convert To Greyscale

you now should have your "goth" doll

go to File> Save As and save you doll.

You should now have 5 different skin tones to play around with and make dolls

*****Remmber to now go back and take of the save as transparency on Irfan or you will end up making furutre images transparent(like i did)******
